Entry requirement: No particular entry course requirement is necessary for this course. Parents and carers whose children are at Primary School Level are encouraged to apply for this short course.
Duration: 10-week course of 2 contact hours weekly starting in October until December 2012 or from February until May 2013.
Learning Outcomes:
* Learn how to support children in developing their understanding of problem solving, reasoning and numeracy in a broad range of contexts in which they can explore, enjoy, learn, practise and talk about their developing understanding
* Practise these skills in order to give children confidence in their use
* Develop mathematical understanding through stories, songs, games and play; Take part in different, practical, imaginative and enjoyable activities focus on mathematical development and learning including observing numbers and patterns in the environment and daily routines
Method of learning: lessons, hands-on, practical work, discussions, joint-sessions with children and parents, and presentations.
Feedback/Assessment: on-going feedback and practical exercises.
Venue/s: B'Bajda Mriehel, Kirkop, Floriana, Gzira.
Certification/Award: Certificate of Attendance based on 80% of regular attendance and participation.
