Entry Requirement: this is a preparatory course designed specifically for those who are not yet ready to sit for the Italian SEC exam but already achieved a school leaving standard (MQF Level 1) in the subject. Learners need to have a) successfully completed the course in Italian at MQF Level 1, or b) obtained a school leaving certificate in Italian with at least 50% pass mark.
Duration: 32-week course starting in October 2012 until May 2013.
Learning Outcomes:.
* Use the language effectively for purposes of practical communication;
* Describe aspects related to everyday affairs and conditions and to respond adequately in a direct interview;
* Read and write simple narratives in the German language with good use of grammar.
Feedback/Assessment: based on continuous assessment (Lifelong Learning Portfolio). The adult educator shall advice learners whether after this year they will be able to proceed to the Italian SEC level.
Venue/s: Lifelong Learning Centre Msida
Certification/Award: Certificate of Attendance based on 80% of regular attendance.
Access to next level of education/training: after successfully completing this course, learners can then take up this course at SEC level.
