Environmental Studies - Intermediate

Type Academic Subjects
Duration 32 weeks
Age Group 15+

Description This course is meant to offer an opportunity for learners who may not have prior knowledge of science, to study a range of environmental issues from a scientific perspective. Although other dimensions (such as social, cultural, economical and political aspects) may be considered, this course primarily seeks to provide scientific knowledge and understanding enabling the candidate to review environmental issues more objectively. This would enable them to assess the dimension of the issue and to consider alternative strategies for its resolution. The programme seeks to provide basic environmental literacy for learners who would later pursue a wide variety of careers but it is also meant to encourage and provide basic knowledge to others who would opt for careers directly related to the environmental field. The Direcorate for Lifelong Learning shall be receiving applications between Friday 20th August and Friday 3rd September 2010 from 8.30am till noon. APPLICATIONS SENT BEFORE FRIDAY 20TH AUGUST SHALL NOT BE PROCESSED BEFORE THE OPENING DATE.
